The Northern Pines Sled Dog Race (NPSDR) is held annually in Iron River, Wisconsin. The race attracts national and international participation and takes place at the Northern Pines Golf Course and Event Center.

Situated among the mature pine tree plantations in Bayfield County and the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, the race features Sprint and Mid-Distance Dog Racing, W3PO Weight Pull and Kids Fun Mutt Run events. Lets go dog sledding!

Sprint Race

The Sprint & Mid-Distance Races kick off with a thrilling downhill dash, sweeping through the picturesque golf course before venturing into the Bayfield County Trail system and the Tri-County Corridor. As a spectator, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart-pounding action from numerous vantage points.

Mid-Distance Race

Mid Distance

The Iron River Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Northern Pines Sled Dog Race (NPSDR). The races will feature 50~70 mushers in four different classes and runs through the golf course and then enters into the Bayfield County trail system and the Tri-County Corridor.

W3PO Sanctioned Weight Pulling

Our one-of-a-kind weight pulling event! Canine weight pulling showcases the awe-inspiring power of individual dogs, each adorned with a custom weight pulling/freighting harness. With unwavering focus, these remarkable dogs pull a wood sled laden with weights across a snow packed path. Covering a precise distance of 16 feet, all within a set time frame.
