Come See the Real Heavy Pullers and How Fast and Hard They Can Pull
From express to freight, sled dogs in all sizes. Big or small, we’ll run them all. This will be a maximum weight in the shortest time pulled event that will let you see just how powerful man’s best friend can be. Open to all healthy, fully vaccinated dogs. Proper weight pulling harness required. Pulling distance is 16 feet over packed snow. This will be a W3PO sanctioned event/rules.
Canine Weight Pulling
... is a sport in which a single dog, equipped with a specially designed weight pulling/freighting harness, pulls a cart or sled loaded with weights over dirt, carpet, snow or even rails, a specified distance (16 feet) within a specified amount of time. It is a modern adaptation of a bygone era, when dogs were used as freight animals to move cargo.
The event is free
Rosettes Awarded for Most Weight Pulled, Most Weight Pulled per Body Pound and Slowest Successful Pull.
LOCATION
Northern Pines Golf & Event Center, Iron River, WI.
Date: TBD
9 ~ 10a.m. weigh-in for Weight Pull.
10a.m. Weight Pull starts.
Weight Pull awards presented at the chute. Registration fee is $20.
The NPSDR veterinarian will be conducting randomized vaccination checks prior to the start of the race and weight pull events.
Drivers must provide dog vaccination records if requested.
