Thinking Of Coming To The
Northern Pines Sled Dog Race?

The Northern Pines Golf & Event Center was the Sponsor of the March 8th “Fun Run” at Northern Pines

Let's Mush One More Time!

Just when you thought your gangline was ready to be hung up for the season — Mother Nature delivered one last gift of fresh snow! We couldn’t resist the opportunity to squeeze in one more run before the snow melts faster than a musher eyeing the last cup of coffee at the checkpoint.

So we sent out an announcement to load up your team(s), point your trucks north, and come enjoy 8-10 inches of new snow on a freshly groomed 6 Dog trail (8.2 miles) through the beautiful Wisconsin North Woods. Our trail boss has given the trails two paws up — and that’s about as official as it gets!

It’s been a long winter, so before we traded in our snow hooks for lawn chairs, we wanted to gather for one more day of trail riding, laughter, and swapping stories about the one-that-got-wrapped-around-a-tree. So on March 8th 2025, 16 mushers took us up on the offer and waxed their runners, throw an extra pair of long johns in the sled bag, and sent winter out with a bang — or at least a few happy barks!

January 25th

  • There is some vegetation sticking up through the snow on the trails
  • Some limited snow cover on the golf course fairways where there is grass
  • The trails are bumpy in some of the wooded wilderness trail sections
  • The trail snow base is mostly 5” with some sections having less in open areas or wilderness areas with heaviest cover and tops of inclines
  • The race officials and committee have determined that the trail is safe for teams
